rds.exe and dr.watson

i hope someone out there can help me with this as i have been working on it for a couple days. i am using arcserve 2000 v7.0 build1080 on a nt machine. my problem is that after i merge a tape it says successful. then dr. watson comes up on rds.exe access violation (oxc000005)address 0xoo266007. then in the job status i get failed to login to arcserveit database ec=-2005.datebase stopped. i have looked at the permissions and they look ok. the .cat files are in the temp folder under arcserve but i cant get them so i can restore them. Any help would be great as i am getting sick of looking at this problems. thanks

Build 1100 is the latest version. Upgrade to Sp4 first ( be sure to stop all ARCserve related services and the GUI first). Then check again for these error messages.

When the database stops during these kind of operations this could indicate that it is corrupt.
How many *.cat files are there in the temp folder of ARCserve ?
Did you change the servername recently ??
Do you also have ec=-2005 errors during normal backup jobs ??

there are 9 cat files but it looks like 5 of them are the sameone that i keep on trying to do. no the server name has not changed since it was setup a couple years ago by someone else. also we do not backup are stuff. this is stuff that is backed up by a client. they then send it to us. we restore it and make sure it looks ok incase the client ever has any trouble we can print there info they need or send back the tape they might need. i have been doing this for a year now and all of a sudden i got this problem.
