To answer your questions;
1. If you don't have a firewall in place you can't really stop anybody trying to connect on port 3389 if it's open and your IP address can be seeing. Changing the TS port might help but will also affect your other users connecting to this server
2. To check who logged on to a terminal server, ensure that you have auditing enabled in security policy.
