RDP session through PPTP has no problems. However, through Nortel VPN client, the session drops after about 10 minutes of inactivity. here is the error:

"The connection to the remote computer was broken. This may have been caused by a network error. Please try connecting to the remote computer again."

The timeout on the rdp server is high, more than an hour. The client tunnel stays UP, no problems there. Only rdp session is disconnected. I can connect immdiately after with no problems.

Any ideas as to what's going on?? A packet capture on the client side shows a lot TCP retransmits. I think this might be latency issue, could the IPSec overhead be causing this?

This is old, but I resolved this issue by using the TCP MSS option on the private side of the Contivity and setting it to 1300.
