I have a windows xp pro machine running sp2 that I am trying to connect to using a vpn tunnel, and rdp to the specific machine. I have forwarded 1701,1723, 500,4500, and 3389 on the actiontec 1520 router. I can RDP directly to the box via the wan address. I can also establish a vpn tunnel no problem. What I cannot do is run rdp over vpn. Instead of RDP to 63.231.x.x, I am trying to connect via 192.168.x.x. The connection continues to timeout when I try to connect. The remote machine that I am trying to connect from is obtaining a 169.x.x.x address after I establish the VPN tunnel. Any idea why this is not working?
