Hi,
I have strange problem with a Windows 2003 server. I have assigned a static ip X.X.X.50. When I rdp to the machine using this ip it works fine. But when I try using the machine name ABC I cannot connect. The server has been added to the domain have all the DNS entries ok. Whats strange is when i try and ping the machine name i get :
Pinging ABC.domain [X.X.X.104]. I dont understand why it has 104 instead of 50, somewhere there is a naming problem.
Any ideas?
Many Thanks in advance
