Ok so installed Vista on my home PC and now i get this message when i try to connect. i think i have to upgrade my version of RDP on the server, but how?

Remote Desktop cannot verify the identity of the computer you want to connect to. This problem can occur if:

1.the remote computer is running a version of windows that is earlier than windows Vista.
2. The remote computer is configured to support only the RDP security layer.

Then it attempts to connect but doesnt succeed.

Make sure that you have opened the firewall to allow Remote Desktop.

I use Vista to access my servers all the time. I get the same message as a warning (because it wants to see longhorn as the destination) but have no problems connecting.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
