RDP issue - causing monitor to error out

User is trying to RDP from Node1 to Node2. Node1 is a laptop, sp2. Node2 is a Desktop, sp1. User connect via rdp to Node2. User logs in to Node2 via RDP. User works on machine. Gets done work. Ends RDP session. User physically goes over to Node2. attempts to log in, Monitor goes black and advises "Analog Input. Cannot Display this mode"
I can remote to the machine via SMS and the user is logged in, but the Monitor (Dell Flatscreen) still shows monitor message. If I reboot the Node2, monitor works fine

See if you can avoid the problem by using different settings on the Remote Desktop Connections "Options" tab?

It sounds like the Remote Machine is using settings that the Client Monitor can't easily handle
