Windows app, VS 2008. RDLC report renders to one page in the Report Viewer but prints on one page at my office and two pages at the client location. The report consists of a few list objects with a table contained in each of the lists. The list that gets bumped to the second page is the one on right with the Wing Ding characters in the table columns. I found that if I don't extend the list below the lists on the left, then those lists get moved down when the list on the right increases in height. Is there a different way of doing this, or do you think it's a report viewer issue, .Net, or something else? Please refer to uploaded RDLC image. Note: All of the reports I have tested are well short of a full page.

Depends on printer/driver & print setup

I sort of figured that might be the case. Do you think I should reduce the margins to see if that fixes the problem? I did reduce them somewhat but it didn't seem to help. Maybe I'll try reducing then a lot to see what happens.

Many years ago (using Access) I had to produce reports to print across a range of printers. I've not had this issue to solve with .Net,

However the solution was to locate the user's printer and before printing, save the printer's settings and then change the printer's settings to those that I required and after printing set them back again. My reports had to print on one page and I had to locate the "shrink to fit" option and make sure that was as I needed.

I've not checked but I'm sure the .Net Printer classes would have a mechanism to access and change the printer's settings.

Alternativley you could display the printer selection dialog and let the user make their own settings.

The user needs a FIR TO PAGE setting.

Fit To Page??

Since I was talking from memory, I think that "shrink to fit" wasn't bad.

But yes, "Fit To Page" is the setting that I was thinking of.

Thanks, that gives me a place to start.

At this time of year, "fit to page" becomes "fir to page" as the used Christmas trees are chipped, soaked, digested and sucked dry on a fourdrinier.
