Rdist update of target Linux box not working

Have the following error when trying to use rdist from a SCO box to update hosts and aliases files on Linux:

rdist: connection failed: version numbers don't match

It worked OK updating 2 target AIX boxes and 2 target SCO boxes, but doesn't like the Linux boxes.

Any suggestions anyone?
