Rdist update of target Linux box not working

Getting the following error:
rdist: connection failed: version numbers don't match

At present rdist works fine, updating 2 AIX boxes plus 2 SCO boxes. I need to update hosts and aliases files on two newly added Linux boxes too, but it errors as above.

Any ideas anyone?
