in rcp command the command give me the message:
PErmission denied.
Why?

I must have the user that use rcp in both the server?
I have to use .rhosts.
Bye
Dax

rlogin to the other host
run 'who'
on a Solaris Box you need to add the name of the host in () to your .rhosts file EXACTLY as it appears in ()...

Yes, for rcp, the user must be in each server.

Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side because there is more manure there - original.

Sorry but if I write Who on Linux System give me (xxx)
If I write Who on Sco Unix system give me:
user tty Date
Where are ()?
Bye
Dax

if I run who I see

Code:
[fp@admin6] % who
root console May 13 13:16 (:0)
root pts/7 May 19 14:13 (:0.0)
fp pts/10 May 19 15:28 (pcpc39.[i]mydomain[/i].de)
[fp@admin6] %

next I would edit .rhosts the following way

Code:
[fp@admin6] % echo [i]username_on_pcpc39[/i] pcpc39.[i]mydomain[/i].de >> .rhosts
