Hi guys,

What does it take to run remote console? I tried to run rconsole and rconj. I get no luck from it. I got into a part where it ask you for IPX # and password, but it doenst go nowhere. At the end it gave me some errors msg, saying something SPXestablismnet couldnt connect, etc, etc.
My network MS win2k and run IP's and IPX. Anyone having luck connecting w/o any problme?

You're probably better off using RConJ as it is a lot better and hogs less CPU on your workstation when you use it. To configure your server for RConJ, you need to load the following in your AUTOEXEC.NCF. If you want to load it from the console to get it working, that works as well:

RCONAG6 password 2034 16800

where password is your desired password. Note: password for RConJ is case sensitive so what you type is how you would have to type it using RConJ. -----------------------------------------------------

Hi,

I got it to work. LOL I didnt know I need login as a "Admin"..doh!,doh!. I use Adrem FreeCon, its free and its very small proggy. Ok thats out of my way. Next is cdrom.

CDROM? Do you want to know how to access a CDROM from your NetWare server?

Just put the CD into the server, type CDROM at the console, the CD is then mounted as a volume. -----------------------------------------------------

Rconj requires rconag.nlm to run after which it's all ip. rconsole is ipx/spx based - you'll need 2 protocol driven nlms to run them and of course the local sys files which are the utilities themselves.

I have found an easier tool which also uses rconag - but better than rconj. rconip - search for it. ========================================
