Has anyone got or seen documentation decribing the authentication process for RCO.

As I see it there are four points involved in this process.
1 viewer
2 host
3 rco manager
4 nt domain authenicator (P/BDC)

I have a problem with an RCO host but cant get to the bottom of it since I dont have a fully detailed list of who says what to whom and in what order.
There are communication issues between various points in the process but because I dont actually know if they need to talk to each other I dont know if this is what is causing the problem.

The Viewer contacts the Host. The Host contacts the Manager to update his settings and see if the credentials supplied are allowed in. If the Host cannot contact the Manager he uses his registry settings and local preferences.
