Hello Guys,

Is any Idea about error message? "rcmd:socket:permission denied."
I am getting this error message when I do rlogin to remote
system.Telnet and ftp is working fine.

Regd,
Ajay Lohani

Check for file ownership and permissions:

# chown root /usr/bin/rsh /usr/bin/rcp /usr/bin/rlogin
# chmod 4555 /usr/bin/rsh /usr/bin/rcp /usr/bin/rlogin
it should look like:
-r-sr-xr-x 1 root bin 8772 Aug 30 13:31 /usr/bin/rsh
-r-sr-xr-x 1 root bin 20292 Aug 30 13:31 /usr/bin/rcp
-r-sr-xr-x 1 root bin 15808 Aug 30 13:31 /usr/bin/rlogin

Regards,

Carlos Almeida,
