Guys i need some help.

I have had a problem with a customer using bcm400 software version 4.0

The RCC historical reports cannot be accessed.
This has happen a few times over the past year

My tech support have advised to apply lastes SU system Patch 27 and SU desktop patch 16 which i have now installed.
They have advised to uninstall ver 2.4 and re-install new version 2.45 of RCC reporting to the PC.
I ran the software and it got to a stage were it brought up the DBfixutility and asked me to run this before it would continue.
So i did.
For the past 6 hours it has run and the screen says its running the "RCC validation check utility".verifiying rcc data base.
It shows a DOS box with information relating to the files such as rccagents.rcclines etc and then loads of info relating to the files its checking.

How long does this run.
The readme file on the patch says 30 mins to reinstall
its been over six hours so far and i told the customer to ring me when it completes.

I have only ever installed these from new and this is the first i have had to reinstall.

2nd question.
Does the customer passwords and customer info get reloaded into the rcc when it completes or do i have to manually put this information back in.

Hopefully some on has done alot of thes and guide in the right direction

Snowman, I did the reinstall and it took about 30 minutes. Sounds like you may have to abort and start again. All the users, passwords, etc were retained on my reinstall. Good luck.

Well i let it run all weeked and on monday afternoon it eventual completed the RCC validation check.
4 days thats a long time to wait.

The the rest of the process run as normal and all worked .

Phew-----Sign of relief!!!!!

I tend to prefer to re-install from scratch and ask the customer from what date they want RCC to pull previous data...!

thanks for the replys.

As you can see my problem was when trying to reinstall rcc reporting i did not get as far as the completed installation.

the install forced me to run the rcc validation check.
this stoped the rest of the install until it completed the RCC database check.

i could not see how to stop it and didnt want to corrupt any more data reports.

when it eventually finished 4 days later then it asked for the country language and run the new verification check.

It installed the usuall mysql, etc and completed the checks.

then i got presented with the rcc login. admin password, company details etc

after that every thing worked as normal.

IT was the time it took to do this was just beond belief.
