I have a customer with a BCM400 3.7 that has a monthly reboot schedule. The problem is that after the system reboots, the RCC has to be reistalled on the server to start reporting info again.

I have tried several different things, but the reinstall seems to be the only thing that starts streaming data again.

Is there a better solution?

I would suggest removing RCC from the server PC.
Apply the latest Core, VM, and RCC patches to the BCM.
Reinstall RCC from the BCM.
After RCC has connected to the BCM try a reboot and see what happens.

Many RCC problems are also PC or Network related too.
But, having the latest patches on the BCM is a good place to start.

To control the reboots and to keep the lousy NT from doing it's sudden ghost reboots at odd times.

The 1st couple of BCMs I installed would reboot themselves every three to six months, always at the worst time possible. Also access to unified manager would get flakey after a few months if I didn't reboot. Nortel recommended the reboot schedule and those boxes have been happy ever since.

Because of that, I recommend to the customers to schedule a reboot on the non-linux boxes.
