Anyone ever have this problem. I installed a BCM 4.0 with Contact Center Reporting. I log on to the Web Page for reporting and go to set up the RCC. When I go to download the data base, I get this error..ERROR! CannotConnectToDB. I checked the documentation and it said to reset "postgres" service if it is not running. It was running but I restarted it anyway and I am still having the same problem. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Can you ping the BCM from the RCC machine?

Is there any virus software or spyware running on the server? I had a similar problem it turned out to be a problem with norton antivirus. Also try turning off the firewall.

danthephoneman. Yea, I thought the sames thing so I turend the firewall off and no there is no Virus software. It's really strange because it connects to the BCM but it cannot find or connect to the Database on the BCM for reporting.

Can you post what you found to be the problem and the solution? I am getting the same thing. Thanks.

My expierence with RCC, is you need all the latest patches for sure. I'd have them working fine, all of the sudden customer calls and it's down. I'd call ITAS and they had a patch up on website 3 days ago. Patch would fix it.

The other thing they always had me do was uninstall RCC, and all its directories on C drive and then the recycling bin. Then reinstall, but after patching. You defintely need the firewall off, IIS installed and no virus running as stated on other posts.

Some would say uninstall sequel database, others said not, all the call records reside on the BCM, so you won't lose data.

Good luck.

I have what I believe to be the latest patches. I did go in and remove the RCC, MySQL and the Java and reinstalled it all. Still getting the ERROR! CanNotConnectToDB. I shutoff the RCCLauncher service when I did the patch.

The patch installed on the BCM for RCC is really patching the RCC Client s/w. You need everything uninstalled like you did. Then run the patch, then reinstall everything. Or if patch already installed, uninstall everything, then reinstall.

It will install the patched RCC s/w.
