does anyone know what the command RC1 does??
there is no reference in MAN

I dont know what this means

The output you have on the screen is indicating that your system (most likely Sun) is complaining about the root filesystem after a re-boot. The output is produced from fsck, and is basically runing a check aginst the filesystem to make sure all is ok.
The second part is complaining about the meta-device (/dev/md/rdsk/d19) already being in use. You might want to check out the /etc/vfstab file to see if it has a duplicate line in it, or is incorrect in some other fashion.
RC1 is the first run level that the machine goes through when booting.
