Hi there,

Our Sybase DBA's wish to test raw paritions on our Suse and Redhat servers.
I have creating the partitions with fdisk and used the raw command to create the mappings.

I did not know what partition type to choose for the raw devices so I chose '0 [Empty]'
Is this the correct approach in defining the partitions.

Thank you...

The partition type doesn't really matter. It's only there to offer hints to fdisk like utilities.

Excellent!

Thanks for the info...
