raw file format

Hi there,
I have a .ai file and need to send the printer a .raw file. I tried exporting the ai file directly from illustrator, or save as eps and pds then open in photoshop and save as .raw. Either way, when I open the raw file in Photoshop, it's totally garbled. Tons of tiny stripes... any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

and download the zipped discription. Apparently .raw only supports 16bit graphics. Go into Photoshop>Image>Mode>16bits/channel and see if that works.
If your printer can't work with an .eps, time to find another printer with updated equipment.
