rational clear-case backup

Hi,
A full backup of ~13GB (~500K files) takes ~46 HOURS.
I'm running the script that handle the vobs before the backup.
Does any one has experience with clear-case?
Is there any special settings in Legato (6.12) that can help (besides parrallelism)?
The hardware of the clear-case server is an "over killer" IBM server.
