Hi there,

Could anyone please give me there opinion on our website please, a mark out of 10, with 10 being the highest.

thanks

scary, not too appealing for a web design firm. The Chuky faces at the lower left didn't do it for me.
however the graphics look good from a design point of view.
The form at the end, in your contact page shouldn't have the scroll bars, it breaks the page.

Small snapshots of the pages created under the portfolio would really help. I already knew the website about the football team and the nannies from your previous postings, but for a new user it would be nothing but words.

Still, pretty cool site, have a 8.75.

Thanks for the reply grtfercho, yeah we were not really 100% sure about the top parts, in case it gives off the wrong impression. What parts do you think are scary?

thanks

Anything that has a head with blank/dead eyes pretty much doesn't belong there.

Why not show off a bit of your design/CSS skills and let the user change the whole site if they want to.
check for CSS inspiration.

It looks "designed". But it's not designed for the medium it is presented in.

I would say that a professional web design firm that makes a site consisting of purely images and image maps is missing something.

There is NO text content on your site at all. Anywhere.
Let alone accessibility issues, are you hoping for any kind of search engine visibility?
Without text content your site is invisible to anything other than a "regular" web browser.

There is no reason at all why you cannot render the text as text instead of a picture. It would even be better if the text was done in Flash, at least some crawlers will be able to index that.

Put the URL of your homepage into this

It will show you that to a spider there are NO followable links on the page!

Also, the code does not validate.

Sorry, if that's a harsh opinion(hey, I have a hangover!) but it's meant to help you make your site better. Personally, I would say you are graphic designers and not web designers. There is a difference

Web design shouldn't just be about putting pretty pictures online. You obviously have a good visual eye, better than my own. Some of you other work is way above what you have done for yourself.

From a visual design point of view: 7/10
From a web design point of view: 2.5/10

I agree with the others. The design is pretty solid, but dark. (maybe that's what you were going for) In addition to the "chucky" doll at the bottom being not such a good choice the barbed wire at the top is also a bit strange for me. In a way the whole thing reminds me of something out from the Silent Hill video game series. Not a look I would choose for trying to sell my services.

As mentioned before the sites design (if somewhat disturbing) appears to be professional but it's execution (images and image maps) screams amature. Dial up users will probably not wait for the first page to load.

Based on your portfolio you can obvoiusly do better web work. I too think that you should not sell your own business short. After all what better form of high distribution low cost advertising is there?

IMHO: Coupled with the search engine and validation issues that Foamcow pointed out I think your site is best re-developed (not necessarily redesigned).

Design: 7
Implementation: 2

I'm sorry but the first thing I thought of when I saw it was Blair Witch, not web design.

Plus its all graphic, and no content.

Its very interesting looking, but if I were looking for a firm to design a site for me, Im not sure if it would get and keep my attention.

I love the design - stick with it... could use more content though...

Thanks for all your replys so far, we really apprecite it.

We have came to an agreement that we have to re-design the website, so watch this space.

We should have something new by Tuesday or Wednesday, so i would really apprecite your thoughts again please.

Ahhh - come on - just don't do them same web design crap with a futuristic look and stuff - enough of that...

If you want to please everybody, make it CSS complaint as I suggested initially and then have a link/select box where your user can choose what they like best.

TheConeHead can select the current look and I could select something futuristic. Taking that approach will make you focus more on the content of your site, therefore increasing your visibility to search engines.

Whenever you feel to change the 'default' look for first time visitors just go and change your stylesheet and booom your site has a whole new face.

is the best example of content and design coexisting perfectly.
