Hello,

Is there a way to rate limit the amount of connections coming from a certain source IP from a cisco switch?

Thanks,
D

What type of switch is it? Also, does the device with a given IP address connect to a specific port on an access switch within your control? You'd usually do this with a policer statement in a service policy, applied to the switchport connecting to the IP-enabled device in question.

The general answer to your question is yes, but I'd need more detail in order to give more detail.

Thanks, you've answered my question. I just wanted to know if this was possible. I didn't want to implement it.

Thanks very much.
