I have RAS clients trying to dial into our network and access a LAN router off to our Paris office. the ras users are set up to receive DHCP details of

172.19.8.100 - 254
255.255.254.0
172.19.8.4 (our Paris router)

However, the PPP adapter keeps getting supplied with a mask of 255.255.0.0. this then affects the connection to our Paris router

Does any body know why the PPP adapter gets assigned with the wrong mask and is there any way of manually changing it when logged on.

I am running an NT4 service pack 5 (accross the board) network and the ras clients are also NT4 SP5

thanks

Check that the client with PPP doesn't have any IP configuration parameters set, these will over-ride anything that DHCP assigns......has the client had a static IP address assigned in the past...???

If you do IPCONFIG /ALL from a command prompt on the client this will show you what is being setup for IP...is the client actually receiving a valid DHCP address (apart from the mask)..????
