I recently moved my SG config files and host files to another computer that I wanted to setup as a cold spare to my production firewall.
Everything came up fine however when I was going through the new firewall config, I noticed that the routes did not get transfered over.

I try to add in my routes and when I do the Save & Reconfigure, I get this error message:

netsetroutes: fail to run route on new record

Symantec's site doesn't seem to have any info on this issue. Any thoughts?

Michael,
Do you have this machine plugged into a network? Is it a Windows 2000 server? If it can't find where those routed IPs are, I don't think it will record the routes.

I HAD loopback adapters plugged into the network cards to make it seem like it was on a network. But for some reason there were no default routes in the OS. Yes it is Windows2k server.

I finally got it to work when I got the default OS routes to show up by plugging the computer into a real network.

Thought the loopback adapters would've done that for me.
