Rapidrelease auto-update broken 1

As of yesterday, XDBdown.cmd set to download rapidrelease definitions only downloads a file called whatsnew.txt and not the actual xdb file. Tried at multiple locations and still not working. I think that some file it checks for on the Symantec ftp is missing.

For anyone who may find it useful, I figured out a fix for the script:

After the "ftp -s:check.txt" line, add three new lines:

type chk.lst | find /I "xdb" >> temp.txt
DEL chk.lst
REN temp.txt chk.lst

This gets rid of all the extraneous file listings and leaves a nice clean chk.lst, with only the xdb file, for the rest of the script to process.

No problem. Only took me a week and a half to come up with those three lines. lol. Symantec has been informed of my fix, so hopefully they will incorporate it, or something similar, into the downloadable xdbdown for everyones use.
