Hi All
I need to incorporate rank functionality in my crystal reports by group. Below is the sample of the report output.

I have a table that has following data:

Dept_ID; Expenses;
ACCT; 100
ACCT; 200
ACCT; 80
MGMT; 500
MGMT; 75
MGMT; 90
FIN; 50
FIN; 20

I would like the Crystal Report to rank these Expenses (Descending in Order) group by Dept_ID as follow:
Dept_ID; Expenses; Rank;
ACCT; 100; 2
ACCT; 200; 1
ACCT; 80; 3
MGMT; 500; 1
MGMT; 75; 3
MGMT; 90; 2
FIN; 50; 1
FIN; 20; 2

I am unable to utilize and find Rank Functionality in Crystal Report. Can someone give me a hint to accomplish above desired results?
Any feedback is helpful and welcome.
Thanks!!!!

Hi,

This would a simple task if you were to sort the records by your Expenses field, as it would then just be 1,2,3 in that order.

You would display the rank using a normal runnning total resetting to zero on change of your Dept_ID

Hth,
Geoff
