Rank command 1

Hi,
I need to get sequence of a value. I am new to teradata database.I want to know the exact command to get the sequence and the query.After doing a search in the google I felt I can use rank command, but not sure whether I can use it or not.
Is there any online site or free documention where can I find more about the teradata commands with syntax.(Mean teradata sql).I did a search in the google but no use..

Although not inexpensive, Tom Coffing has authored a book titled "Teradata SQL Unleash the Power" That I have found to be an excellent resource for function syntax and sql examples.
