I've been having this problem for a while and it's getting very frustrating. My computer(s) are unable to view many sites, such as: ign.com, walmart.com, newegg.com, and a few others that I can't remember at the moment.

The computers that are unable to view it are running Windows XP, fully updated, and I use Firefox, also fully updated. I also tried fully updated version of IE and still I am blocked. I actually use three different computers, two of which run on XP, the third on Vista.

The computer with Vista can view all of these sites without any issues. They are all connected through the same router, a Linksys WRT54G. The error I get is "Server cannot be found" for all of these sites.

I've cleared my cookies and temp files, shut off my windows firewall (and had it on as well). It's very annoying, especially since earlier this week my computer had been on Newegg and Walmart no problems. It seems like sometimes I am able to get on with one computer, another computer never can get on, and the third one always can...other than Windows XP and Vista there really aren't any differences between the three PCs...please help!

Turn off the firewall on the computer or adjust your premissions. I use Zone alarm and I can adjust it so a site the doesn't have proper privacy policys is blocked.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I have everything at the lowest security levels possible, set to accept all cookies and everything else. My firewall is off, and still nothing...

have you tried without the router inline with one of the affected?
direct to the modem to rule out the router.
are you using Norton or McAffees?

Check your hosts file, it contains static resolution records that overwrite your ISP's DNS entries.

I've had the NAT screw up in Linksys routers before and it caused similar problems. Write down your settings and do a factory reset on your router and modem. See if that helps.
