Random phone connection problems

Hi, we are running BC9. One user is having all sorts of trouble with her phone (a 213).

- Several times a day, the ringer will be very loud, although she did not turn it up. She turns it down and it'll go back up, but not immediately.

- Sometimes the connection is extremely static-y

- Sometimes the dial tone disappears completely

- Once the time display disappeared, showing only a few digits

- Several times the time has been wrong

All these problems can be temporarily solved by unplugging the phone and letting it reset. We have tried giving her another phone, but the problems remained. Tried connecting her via a different path, but problems remained.

So far the best guess is that it has to do with static electricity. She says she notices sometimes she touches the keyboard tray, hears her computer speakers crackle, and her phone dies. So we sprayed her chair with anti-static spray and grounded the chair to the desk. To no avail.

Any suggestions?

Hi!

You are definitely far away from the solution by spraying her hair (this could be a good solution for any fault). So, if you have a "noisy" phone there, connect that phone direct in the cross connection, and try again. If the phone is working OK, then you have a problem in the network, not in MD. If the phone is NOT working satisfactory in the cross-connection, then tell us! Usually the problem is in the network, but there is a problem (noy officially solved),which depends of the R-numger of the phone (only 2xxx series). THIS IS NOT A SOLUTION, BUT MAYGE YOU GET AN OTHER IDEA OF THE PROBLEM!!

Sorry Guys!!
My G's and B's are mixed. Sorry!

LOL, we sprayed her CHAIR, not her HAIR!! Today she voluntarily moved the ground strap to her wrist instead of the chair, and last I heard the problems had stopped. It is cold and dry out where we are, but it would be nice to have a "better" solution.

I will pass the cross-connect suggestion on to the wiring guy, but I have a feeling that has already been tried.

What is this problem involving the R-number in the 2xxx series??? I've only been doing this about six months, so I still have a lot to learn.

Thanks!
