random number

is it possible for perl cgi to create a random number between 1 and x?

if so can u point me in the right direction for the code I can't be bothered to have a sig!

$number is the variable that will hold the random number
and $x will be the maximum number to choose from? I can't be bothered to have a sig!

Exactly. I just used [tt]$x[/tt] because you wanted a number between 1 and x.
