Random Number Generator with Standard Deviation and Mean

Hello,

I am just wondering if there is any built in funtion for generating random number given the "mean and the standard deviation"?

Like if you have a zero-mean Gaussian white noise with a standard deviation of 1.

If anyone know of any function, that would be great, I am sure there should be some kind of function, but I can't find it. Thanks for the help in advance.

There are excellent random number generators etc in the Boost library (and Gaussian too)...
