random characters across the top

everytime they print, an extra page prints out first that has random characters across the top. The rest of the document prints fine. Win XP Pro.

If not a Postscript driver, then the NIC may be the trouble. Try changing it.
There could be corrupt macros in the documents.

It may also be better with a PCL5e driver than a PCL6. I've fixed a few HPs with this issue, along with printing, then not printing errors.
