RAMdisk s/w & livelink

Hi,

Can anyone recommend some RAMdisk s/w (windows) for the livelink environment?
We use the Appearances XML module and we want to speed up the XML conversion by doing it in memory rather than on disk.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Are you sure the bottleneck is the conversion and not the Livelink XML export?

We have a system here with performance issues with appreance, and the conversion is a matter of milliseconds. The XML export is the action that takes most of the time.

Hi DrDDT,

Certainly the XMLexport does take time but the conversion is also time-consuming for us because of the size of the XML file we are outputting.
We believe we can get a significant improvement with a RAMdisk.

If the RAMdisk solution doesn't work we will probably look at an AppearanceHTML solution.

In that case a ramdisk might work.

I isolated the commandline XML conversion a while ago, and did some tests. For us, the time spend was really low.

We really only intend to use the RAMdisk as a stopgap until we can upgrade to 9.5 and rewrite everything in AppearanceHTML.
