Hi guys
In reference to an old thread thread965-1803836 it is mentioned some DSCXL cannot take extra 1GB RAM module. How can we tell which DSCXL boards can take this 1GB?

Specifically we have customer using the DSCXL with part number S30810-Q2311-X and they require some additional 1GB RAM modules for this card. But i cannot locate any original Siemens ones anymore. Is ther a viable alternative that we can use instead? I need 5-10 pcs for now.

I think the S30810-Q2311-X300 board came with the 1GB onboard. So if you can get some of them (eBay?) you'd be OK.
It'll probably be hard to source those single 1GB modules now.
If you have a -X card, you could not use the D5 hardware variant with the extra 1GB, ie D5 could not be used with V4 software and above.

You can find out the HW variant from command line.

sta-list:":a1h1f:him/bs/Pprocessor/reload",0,,s;
NOTE: "processor" represents ADP, CCA, CCB (mono systems use CCA). a1h1f assumes system is running from HD.
This command outputs the value for "PCB-ID: "
If the number is 0...3 then it is a DSCXL-D5 or older.

Example for a DSCXL HW issue E:
01 ..SYSTEM RELOAD : TRUE....CPU-ID : Genuine Intel.. 47
65 6E 75 69 6E 65 49 6E 74 65 6C B4 06 00 00 ....PCB-ID : 04 SHELF-ID : 00

I do not know if there was an alternative just for the 1GB module. Certainly on the older hardware, the ram was proprietary, connections were not standard. I don't know about dscxl.
