Hi,
I'm currently using MS Access 97, the query I have is that when I update a record the report which runs from a query needs to tell the report the current number I.E. The current status is at 'Issue 1' when I update a record and run the report I need the Issue to be automatically updated to read 'Issue 2' in the footer on the report.

Why do you not try this:-

1. creat a new number field in your table against each record called "Issue". Using an update query make each record equal 1.

2. On your Form create Macro that will add 1 to any of the records after update.

3. On your Report creat a text box in the report header that uses the following code =Max[Issue]

Hopefully this will work.
