I am learning to set software RAID5 on my Linux Debian3.0r2 box: one 20GB is operation system. Then five 10GB hard disks will be set as software RAID5. Those five hard disks can suport one hard disk failure since they will be RAID5. I am wondering, if the 20 GB hard disk is dead, what will happen to the RAID5? What is the solution for the failure of operation system hard disk?
Will they recovery if I reinstall the same operation system on another hard disk?
