Hi there.
I'm having problems setting up a RAID-1 under RH9.
I looked up a how-to and did the same thing that was written there but still no results. I have two hdd's and i would like to mirror them. I set up the /etc/raidtab that looks like this:
raiddev /dev/md0
raid-level 1
nr-raid-disks 2
nr-spare-disks 0
chunk-size 4
persistent-superblock 1
device /dev/hde2
raid-disk 0
device /dev/hdg1
raid-disk 1
(have no spare disks so didn't use the strings that define spare disks)
Then i did mkraid /dev/md0 and i got this:
handling MD device /dev/md0
analyzing super-block
disk 0: /dev/hde2, 115073595kB, raid superblock at 115073472kB
/dev/hde2 is mounted
mkraid: aborted.
(In addition to the above messages, see the syslog and /proc/mdstat as well
for potential clues.)
i tried to look up the /proc/mdstat and it says:
Personalities :
read_ahead not set
unused devices: <none>
Now i got cunfused a bit and dunno what to do. Perhaps you can help me out with a tip concerning that RAID setup
Thanks alot.
