I have a client that believes they are running hardware RAID level 5. They have three nine gig disks. The problem with this is that they are only seeing a total of 9 gigs when my experience is that they should be seeing 18 gigs. Why would they only be seeing 9 gigs?

If I need to make a change to this configuration, will that require a reinstall?

Do you know if this is hardware level raid or software if its hardware It depends if they installed the software manager or not But usually on bootup you will see a message ctrl-enter for scsi setup or thereabouts go into that and there will usually be info on the current Raid container config
