Hi all,

We are planning on obtaining some new Dell boxes for IIS.

We will run RAID 1 with 2 disks for the OS - what is recommended for the data partition? RAID 5 or RAID 10, and why?

We will be hosting an ecommerce shopping cart website based in .NET

Thanks

For an IIS site RAID 1 is usually just fine.

IIS will cache most if not all the data into memory and will hit the disk very infrequently. Especially on a shopping cart site which is probably going to be fairly small.
