Has anyone of you tried to create a raid array that will be used for rootvg?

i have three disk with a raid controller. i want to create a raid array that i will be used for rootvg? is that possible. It will only allow to install on the first disk but do not have the option to create the array?

Are you trying to setup a standard RAID1 (Mirror)?

If you have a Raid Controller, there is usually a BIOS setting to go into and create the RAID as it is independant of the OS. If you are wanting to use the Volume Manager version of RAID, then you should be able to do this easily using either Smit or cli.

You mean raid5?

if you want to create using raid5 for rootvg, it is possible but some of aix system not support it.

In general, you have to boot the aix system using DIAG CD and then should create raid array with diag util.

it's availible to install OS after above process is finished.
