Hello I need information. I'm looking for the best program to do an image of my server which is running on raid miror. I'm a bit suspicious about ghost and I don't really like norton so if you have any idea of what to use please let me know.

You are in vastly different price league if you are trying to image a server. Ghost and Drive Image don't support imaging of servers. Acronis offers Acronis True Image Server 8.0 for Windows or Acronis True Image Server 8.0 for Linux, while Symantec offers V2i Protector. I've not tried either of these products.

Freestone:

I image Windows 2000 Server with Ghost. It's on a non-RAID drive.

Did you mean that it won't image a mirrored drive on a server?

I'm curious in case I were to ever mirror the drive.

I'll stand corrected if you say you use Ghost with Windows 2000 server. What version are you using? Version 9 is using Drive Image technology, and Drive Image never worked with server, so I wonder if Ghost 9 does work.

well thats the thing I have 2 hdd (ide) plugged into a scsi controler (call it raid controler (promise)) I doubt that ghost will see them in DOS mode. Btw my server is running win2000server and I have an other one running Windows Server + microsoft SQL (my jobs is a microstuff lover what can I do...) nyway i'll wait for more proposition at least I have Acronis, just hope it work with raid.

Freestone:

I've used Ghost 7.5 and 8.0 to ghost the Windows 2000 server from a DOS boot disk. I think you guys were talking about doing it from within Windows, though, now that I reread your posts.

Frush:

I think you're right; you won't be able to see the drives in DOS mode.
You might try looking at BartPE to see if there is a plugin that would let you load the RAID controller and run Ghost32 to image the mirrored drive.
