RAID Configuration

We are ordering our server for Business Objects Enterprise. This server will have the full install, though we will be putting all our input/output onto a separate drive.

We have a separate external RAID5 array that we would like to use rather than to purchase the server with it's own internal RAID5. Does anyone have experience with this, and if so, would it be recommended?

Also, we plan to purchase the server with the C drive being Mirrored. Any problems or advice on this?
