Hi Everyone

I have an interesting query, my 3 x hard disks in a Raid 5 are all showing constant red lights, though the system (windows 2000) still runs and functions normally though slow. I have changed the back plate and the red lights are still on.

Can anyone help, before I'm in a situation where my server dies. Luckily I've managed to do a full backup. I will also run an image program, just in case!!

If anyone could help I would be grateful.

Thanks

Might be interesting with little more info

Drive make and model, firmware revision

Raid adapter info

Is bios and all hardware firmware up to date

Is firmware on raid card the most recent, Windows drivers most recent?

Sounds like the array is in a degraded state, please verify.

Any messages in Windows event logs, any messages in drive management software

Have you reseated cables and drive adapter, reseated all drives involved.
