Hi all,

I have SUN Ultra 420 server and 3 Multipacks each with 4 harddisks. Each multipack connected to different controller cards. I like to know if i create a single RAID5 device (metadevice) using Disksuite software across all 12 harddisks, is there any performance problems. Is it advisable to create separate RAID5 on each multipack which is connected to separate controller. Which setup will give me higher performance.

Also i have another query. I have 4 harddisks and like to create a RAID5 device on these 4 Harddisks. Should i create a single filesystem (RAID5) across all 4 harddisks or should i create small 6 raid5s/filesystems across 4 harddisks. Which will give me better performance, creating single filesystem or creating small sized multiple filesystems. Please respond.

Thanks in advance.
