I have a Promise Fasttrak S150 SX4-M PCI RAID card. The drive letter disappeared from Windows and Disk Manager says the disk failed or cannot be contacted.

On boot up, the RAID card's BIOS screen no longer appears.

Promise technical support said that the card appears to have gone bad and needs to be replaced. They also tell me that I can't use any other RAID card solution if I want to access my data on that RAID 5 array.

Here's the catch: they no longer make that card and I can't find a replacement anywhere.

I have 4 SATA 80 GB hard drives that make up the RAID 5 array.

Does anyone know of a way to access the data in my array without the Promise raid card?

Thanks in advance

There is a Fasttrak S150 SX4-M card on Ebay right now (item # 200098222254) and it is at $50 but 8 days left, maybe you can email them and ask them if they have any more.

In doing a Google search I found one company that may or may not have one in stock at superwarehouse.com

Can Promise support work with you on another Promise card to get the data? Promise are funky with their cards and if you tried another none Promise card I am sure it'll have issues. Their drivers are funky. I haven't heard of anyone successfully getting the RAID to see correctly on another card. Wish I had better news for ya. Maybe someone else has an idea that'll work. Good luck!

Cheers
