Hi All

I have a w2003 raid 5 server and one of the disks has failed on it we are having problems sourcing and 18gb drive to match the other, is it possible to put a larger drive in the server and it will work ok.

Many Thanks

I am guessing this is a SCSI array and contains the system volume. Correct?

KNowing makes and models of the drives and controller would be helpful, but Generally speaking, there is no need to match the drive - as long as the replacement drive is at least as large as the failed drive, that's fine.

Hi folks

Sorry for the delay for getting back to you all but been on hols, yes it is a scsi raid array and the server is a Research Machine RX server.

Thanks again

You can use a SCSI drive that is larger than those in the server presently. However, the larger drive will be down graded in size to match.

Others responding here mean what make and model of SCSI drive do you have in the server?
