RAID 5 can add new physical disk?

Just thought of this,does anybody know wether can new RAID adapters of AIX can now support increasing of RAID5 by adding new physical disk in the array without backing up the content of the logical disk? thanks!

no.
you have to create new RAID5 array then add it to existing VG (one disk is not enough - at least 3 disk - to create a new RAID5 array).
