Installed an updated driver for the Promise controller on the Intel board, rebooted and all hell broke loose. Two of the drives were no longer visible. To make a long story short, the manufacture sends it out with RAID 5 across 4 drives and then the OS mirrored on 2 drives all software based. Someone fooled with the hardware raid and set up striping. Updated the BIOS, still does not see the drives in either the BIOS or the OS. Took the drives to another system, they both were seen, so they are not "failed".

Here is my plan. Purchase a 4 port SATA card, plug the 4 drives in and attempt to rebuild the array after they are all recgonized via Windows and hopefully all goes well.

Does anyone see an issue with this?

Ok, all but 1 was recognized. I am purchasnig a new drive, then will attempt the rebuild, all should go well I would think. Anyone have any ideas or anything to toss in?

Drive is to arrive by 10:30 this morning, one last bump before the rebuild for any pointers :)
