I have a PC with XP SP2 installed and have added a second identical hard drive (both SATA drives).

I use a Asus A8N-E and want to know if it is posssible to configure the drives as RAID 1 (mirroring) without having to re-install my OS??

I have had a go and have successfully configured the array (but without reinstalling the OS) yet when the RAID is enabled in the BIOS the PC will not boot.

Any help would be appreciated. [pc3]

FinestAngus,

You did not state if you have std xp or 64bit xp
make sure that you are using the correct drivers for the XP you have.

Get the latest raid drivers from ASUS here:

and follow the instructions here
This link:

after you install the drivers from a 3.5"flop you should be good to go
